DEVILFISH is a new work by playwright Jay Eddy. The musical is a retelling of Hans Christian Andersen’s dark and punishing LITTLE MERMAID set between the bioluminescent sea and a Florida freak show just before the birth of Disney World.

REHEARSALS:
Rehearsals will be held weekdays from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm (includes lunch break) July 10th-19th, 2023. Additonally, tech rehearsals will be held from 5:00-9:30 pm on July 17th-19th.
PERFORMANCES:
July 20th-22nd and 27th-29th at 7:00 pm
July 23rd and 30th at 2:00 pm
TO AUDITION IN-PERSON:

SIGN UP for a 5-minute audition slot on June 14th or 15th. Auditions will be held at the theatre from 3:30-5:30 pm.

FILL OUT the Actor Audition Form (one per youth) to provide general information and indicate any conflicts with the schedule. Make sure the form has been submitted before you audition.

BE READY to sing 16-32 bars of a song (from a musical or another artist of your choosing) and recite a short monologue (up to 1 minute). Monologues can come from a script of a play, a poem, a chapter book, or other sources. Get creative and pick something that is funny or shows emotion and your uniqueness.

FILL OUT the Actor Audition Form (one per youth) to provide general information and indicate any conflicts with the schedule.

RECORD a short video. State your name, sing 16-32 bars of your prepared song, and recite your monologue. Upload your video to an unlisted youtube or vimeo link and email that link to auditions@bluewatertheatre.com by 5:30 pm on Thursday, June 15th. Include your full name and DEVILFISH in the subject line of the email.
CASTING:
The final cast list will be posted on this webpage by 5:00 pm on Friday, June 16th.
TUITION:
$550 per youth due by July 10th. Payment plans and scholarships (full, half, and partial) are available.
