For the first time ever, BWTC is producing a 24-hour musical! From the creators of last year’s hit THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD comes THE SEARCH FOR SQUATCH – PART II: THE LEGEND BEGINS! We can’t really tell you much more than the title of the show, as part of the fun of the 24-hour musical experience is that none of the actors will have read the script — or will know anything about the show other than the title — until the rehearsal begins.
But those of you who saw or were in THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD know that if Timothy and Adam are behind it, it’s going to be a ridiculous amount of fun.
AUDITIONS & CASTING
Auditions for Blue Water Theatre Company’s production of THE SEARCH FOR SQUATCH are open to all actors currently in grades 8 or above (including college students or other BWTC alumni). Auditions will take place on Monday, August 7 at 8:00pm and Tuesday, August 8 at 8:00pm. Actors should come to their choice of one of the two audition times.
If you are unable to make either audition time, please get in touch with Timothy Radermacher (email@example.com) to make alternate arrangements.
Auditions will be held at Blue Water Theatre Company’s NEW FACILITY in the former Unitarian Universalist Church of Minnetonka at 605 East Rice Street in Wayzata. It is right across the street from the Wayzata library, a block and a half up the hill from Caribou and Ben & Jerry’s. When you arrive, please enter through the west door, which fronts Walker Avenue.
For their audition, actors should prepare a two-minute comedic monologue (it does not need to be memorized), or they may read an excerpt that will be provided for them at the audition. Actors should bring a completed and signed “Actor Information Sheet,” which can be found at the end of this packet.
The final cast list will be posted on the Blue Water web site no later than noon on Friday, August 11, and may very well be up earlier.
REHEARSAL, ATTENDANCE, & SUPERVISION
Actors will arrive at BWTC at 7:00pm on Friday, August 11 to begin rehearsal. Rehearsal will continue throughout the night and all day on Saturday, August 12. 24-HOURS STRAIGHT. Actors are required to be present during the entire rehearsal period, and will not be allowed to leave BWTC’s campus during that time. Snacks, beverages, and three full meals will be provided. At least two adults (one male and one female) will be present as chaperones the entire time.
We will have two public performances of THE SEARCH FOR SQUATCH, both on the same evening: Saturday, August 12 @ 7:00pm and Saturday, August 12 @ 9:00pm
The production fee for an actor to take part in THE SEARCH FOR SQUATCH is $50. This fee helps to cover food, snacks, beverages, and provides a budget for the show’s production expenses. The registration fee is due at the first rehearsal on Friday, August 12 unless special arrangements have been made with us in advance.
