Summer 2017

Summertime at BWTC is the busiest time of the year! In 2016, we had six productions on our stage between June 1 and September 15 — Anyone Can Whistle, Make ‘Em Laugh, Disney’s 101 Dalmatians KIDS, Oklahoma!, The Brave and the Bold, and Lord of the Flies — and 2017 is shaping up to be just as exciting!

Specific program plans and production announcements will roll out over the next few months, but we know that many of you are starting to plan out your summer activities now. Here’s what we can tell you, at this time, about our two most popular programs:

AGES: Actors currently in grades 6 through 12
AUDITIONS: Auditions will be held in mid-to-late April. Specific dates and times will be announced soon.
REHEARSALS: The summer mainstage musical will begin daily (Monday through Friday from 9:00-4:00) rehearsals with the full cast on Monday, July 3. Those rehearsals will continue through Thursday, July 27. There will also be a week of principal rehearsals with leading players from June 26 through July 30.
PERFORMANCES: The summer musical will have hold performances on July 27, July 28, and July 29 at Wayzata Central Middle School.

AGES: Actors currently in grades 3 through 5
REGISTRATION: Registration will be available first-come/first-served beginning in a few weeks. Although this web site will be updated when that information becomes available, we do advise people to JOIN OUR MAILING LIST to make sure you get the announcement in a timely fashion. This program is extraordinarily popular, and tends to fill up quickly.
REHEARSALS: This two-week summer camp runs daily (Monday through Friday) from 10:00-2:00 the weeks of July 10-14 and July 17-21.
PERFORMANCES: Performances for the summer elementary school musical will be held on July 21, July 22 & July 23. They will likely take place in BWTC’s new theatre complex in downtown Wayzata, assuming that work on the facility is complete. Alternatively, performances could happen at Wayzata Central Middle School.
