Blue Water Theatre Company is excited to announce auditions for an upcoming production of Sarah DeLappe’s award-winning play The Wolves.
Winner of the 2015 Relentless Award for Playwriting, and a finalist for the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, The Wolves follows the story of a girls’ indoor soccer team. From the safety of their suburban stretch circle, the team navigates big questions and wages tiny battles with all the vim and vigor of a pack of adolescent warriors. A portrait of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for nine American girls who just want to score some goals.
This production will be directed by BWTC alum Anna Becker. Anna is a recent graduate of Luther College, where she earned a BA in History. While there, she served as the managing director of SPIN Theatre Company (2017-2019) and directed several productions including Selections From the Private Lives of the Master Race by Bertolt Brecht (SPIN), After Dark: A Musical Theatre Cabaret (SPIN), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Assistant Director, Luther College VPA), and Appropriate by Brandon Jacobs-Jenkins (Assistant Director, Luther College VPA). One of Anna’s passion projects on campus was developing and directing A Community of Care with Luther College Student Life: a theatre production performed for the incoming first years every fall about diversity, inclusion, substances, sex, and safety resources available on campus.
