Lord of the Flies

Set against the twin backdrops of uncertain solitude and nuclear war, William Golding’s Lord of the Flies tells a chilling story of decay and desperation. After eleven schoolboys are stranded in the Pacific, their initial attempts to preserve order on the island are soon overcome by a simple fear of the unknown. As their distress mounts, the group splinters into warring factions and soon find themselves confronted by the sheer depth of human cruelty and the truth that the greatest danger they face is from within. Featuring a youth cast reminiscent of the actual characters, Blue Water Theatre Company’s new production takes a fresh look at the classic novel, its message of morality, and the harrowing lessons it continues to teach.
