In Person Auditions: Dec 11 & 12, 2023 from 7:00-9:30 pm (5-minute slots, high school students only). Depending on level of interest, a third day of in person auditions may be added (date TBD).
Video Auditions: Due by 10:00 pm on December 12, 2023. Send to auditions@bluewatertheatre.com. *If you do not get an in person audition slot and would like to audition, please submit video auditions to auditions@bluewatertheatre.com by December 12th at 10:00 pm.
In Person Callbacks (by invitation):
- Les Miserables School Edition: Dec 19, 7:00-9:30 pm
- Romeo & Juliet: Dec 16, 1:00-3:00 pm
Location: Blue Water Theatre Company, 605 Rice St E, Wayzata, MN 55391. Use street parking nearby or park in the library/City Hall/fire station lot on Rice St E. Walk up the driveway to enter in back.
Audition requirements: please prepare both if auditioning for both shows
- Les Miserables School Edition (Gr. 9-12)
- Complete the Actor Audition Form
- 32 bars of music in the style of the show – to be sung acapella (Music Director will also check vocal range during the audition)
- Les Miserables School Edition (Gr. 3-8)
- Complete the Actor Audition Form
- Open roles Gavroche, Young Cosette and Young Eponine. These actors will also play ensemble in select scenes. First round auditions are by video only and DUE Dec 8th by 10pm.
- Submit video or link to auditions@bluewatertheatre.com.
- Please sing ONE of the following musical pieces:
- Castle on a Cloud Sheet Music
- Piano accompaniment for “Castle on a Cloud” (0:37 – end. There is no instrumental introduction, the accompaniment begins with the first sung note of the song. Please be aware the words in the YouTube video do not always match up with what is in the sheet music.)
- Javert at the Barricade Sheet Music (Gavroche’s part)
- Piano accompaniment for “Javert at the Barricade” (1:00-1:42. Note that there is no accompaniment under the first pick-up note “Good.” The start of the accompaniment begins with “eve” of the word “evening.”)
- Castle on a Cloud Sheet Music
- Romeo & Juliet (Gr. 9-12)
- Complete the Actor Audition Form
- Romeo & Juliet Audition Monologues (choose one to memorize and recite)
Important Dates – Les Miserables School Edition
- Rehearsals will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 7:00-9:30 pm.
- Saturday rehearsals will be held from 1:00-3:30 pm.
- Rehearsals begin on January 8, 2024.

Info for Parents/Guardians:
Tuition is $435 per production for actors in Gr. 9-12. Tuition is $400 for actors in Gr. 3-8. Tuition is due one week after the first rehearsal. Refunds will not be issued after the tuition due date. BWTC Scholarship Policy and Application
Youth need to have the following forms on file in order to participate:
- Youth Code of Conduct
- Health/Medical Record
- Photo Release Waiver. Forms that were completed during the prior season (2022-23 school year) will be returned to families for review and a new signature.
SIGN UP FOR IN PERSON AUDITIONS. As a reminder, you will be sent an actor audition form after sign up. Paper copies will also be available at auditions.
